Group Presentation Progress

I believe my group is doing pretty well so far.  I think we have a good understanding on where we want our project to go.  We are working on our project on google docs.  At this point in time we are trying to come up with a script for our project.  We broke up the parts, so each person is in charge of a section.

For our project we are going into the history of story telling.  We will talk about how stories were told by the Greek's and the Native Americans.  Then we will move onto story telling in schools.  Finally we will move onto digital story telling.  I'm assigned with coming up with a script for the digital story telling part.  There's lots of information out there on digital story telling, so coming up with a script won't be hard.  My main concern is making sure it flows nicely with the other parts.

After we come up with our scripts we are going to add clips to Imovie showing the history of story telling.  Here we will also add our script to Imovies.  When we finish hopefully we will have a great project!

  1. I like the idea. I think breaking things up is interesting and very useful. I noticed that you are only breaking up the parts of the script and not the actual technology aspect which is good I think. It allows people to be creative and yet everyone can still make the project in Imovie.

  2. I like the idea of going back to how stories were told in the past. We are also mentioning it, but having another perspective - not how they did, but more in the sense of how we always needed to tell our stories. iMovies seems like a good choice to develop your project, because it is not as limited, in terms of features, as other choices of software. But it can be very frustrating to put a movie together using it. Good luck in your project, I am sure it will be very interesting to watch!

  3. This seems like a really interesting project idea that has the potential to be really informative for our class. We haven't had the opportunity to trace storytelling back to its roots, so this will give us the chance to see how far it has evolved and why the digital forms for storytelling can be so effective. I am really looking forward to your group's final project. Best of luck.

  4. 2. I think that your group’s idea of looking at the history of storytelling is fantastic. The need to share our experiences through stories is an integral part of being human and, as you mentioned, has happened since the dawn of mankind. As humans have evolved, so has storytelling- right from drawing events on cave walls to sharing personal stories with the world on You Tube. I agree that the flow will be the hardest to achieve as that is my concern for my group as well, but I very much look forward to your group’s finished product. Good luck!

  5. I LOVE history - so I am excited to see all the examples from history in your digital story. Like 17-smiles just said above, I was thinking about storytelling on cave walls haha. iMovie is great & I do think the hardest part is to make it all flow - with the different parts of the project and music - but it should all come together!

  6. Sounds like your group is working well, Laura. I'm eager to see how the history of storytelling is captured in the confines of a DST. Your group has certainly taken on a big challenge, but it sounds like you are focused and working effectively.
